Katherine Llodrá is a trained teacher, and parent educator who celebrates parenting practices as well as home practices that truly transform the way we approach mindful living.  For over 20 years, Katherine has been teaching individuals, classrooms and organizations the principles to successfully build strong relationships, and more peaceful, collaborative homes and workplaces. She teaches ongoing workshops and works with individuals and small groups on a number of topics from ‘raising better parents’ to sustainability, simplicity and mindfulness.

Katherine’s interest in education and a lifestyle of simplicity began after completing the coursework for a master’s in education, quitting her day job in San Francisco, and moving to Europe.  While living in Spain for three years, she worked as a consultant to business leaders, diplomats, doctors and taught English to other professionals.  Along the way, she gathered her first insights into simple, sustainable living.

In 2001, Katherine became a mother for the first time and received a gift that would prove to be pivotal not only in raising her children, but for her career.  The gift, a book based on Adlerian and Dreikers concepts, titled Positive Discipline, by Dr. Jane Nelsen, is an approach based on positive foundations for relationships.  Drawing on her credentials in communications and education, and fascinated with how language and intention can so deeply affect the way we connect and flourish, she furthered her knowledge through extensive research, certifications and coursework in neuroscience, parent education and Mindfulness.

Katherine now offers clients programs and conversations that explore the challenges we face as individuals in this age of endless gadgets, distractions and speed.  The principles and practices she teaches are based on the work of, among others, Rudolf Dreikurs, Alfred Adler, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Daniel Siegel, Tim Kasser and Kim John Payne.

“My work acknowledges the correlation between adult well-being and a child’s well-being and there is nothing more exciting for me than watching people discover their own wisdom and confidence as they connect to their calm, limitless abilities”.  The principles and practices she teaches translate to a mindful approach not only to parenting, but healthy and sustainable lifestyles.

Katherine is committed to an education in the new ABC’s; Attention, Balance, Compassion. Inspired to continually live intentionally, Katherine helps individuals reclaim the space and freedom needed for attention to deepen and individuality to flourish by creating a blueprint for change:  Streamlining the home environment, establishing rhythms and rituals, and scaling back on media and, with parents, parental involvement!

After several years facilitating Mindful Parenting courses, Katherine founded Mindful Good as a way to weave together parenting and wellbeing practices that bring more meaning, beauty, connection and joy to our lives.  Known for her passionate, articulate and warm sense of humor, Katherine is committed to helping individuals experience ‘Ah-ha’ moments through proven, practical, beneficial and fun methods.
