Means and Ends

I cannot take credit for the following. I had read it long ago and wrote it down in a place where I keep motivational words in view. I have intentionally read these words each day since shifting into the stay-at-home order. Remembering this helps me parent with a quality of openness and curiosity, and helps me see what is good in every moment, even amidst sorrow, uncertainty and injustice.

It is my aspiration to live by this principle and I hope you too might keep these words in your daily mantra.

There is only one way to achieve any goal that you set for yourself.

To achieve inner peace, you think inner peace and act peacefully, moment by moment.

To achieve unconditional love, you think unconditional love and act unconditionally loving, moment by moment.

To achieve a life that works perfectly, you think perfection and see the perfection in yourself and everyone else, moment by moment.

To experience total abundance in your life, you think and feel the abundance all around you, moment by moment.

The principle is simple. Means and ends are always identical.
