Making Space for What Matters

In the age of information, we are besieged with tips on how to live our lives:  10 Ways to Become a Smarter Person Without Taking an Extra Second Out of Your Day, 50 Easy Ways to Be a Fantastic Parent, How to Flatten Your Stomach in 3 Minutes.  Even if it is well-meaning, the constant stream of advice can, well, have us wondering if we’re really, dare I say, Enough?

The average person simply does not have the hours, or the psychological bandwidth, to make self-improvement a part-time job. And although there is value to gain from this inexhaustible knowledge base, I’ve experienced one thing that favors better mental health, letting go of worry and releasing ourselves from judgment. Mindfulness.  Staying in the present moment as the path to taking better care of our families and ourselves.

Given our current circumstances with COVID-19, many of us are working from home, homeschooling our children, or sharing our home with several family members, not to mention that at this time, there is a real uncertainty about where humanity is going.

The time to begin meditation is now. It is the one certain thing you can do to begin to deal more skillfully with a rapidly changing world, both your own and the larger world we are a part of. If you are interested in getting support, building a community to strengthen your resolve to practice mindfulness meditation, let me know. I welcome the opportunity to practice together, talk about our experience and how we can implement this compassionate wisdom in everyday life. Follow me on Instagram at mindful_good for details!
